Our Waterwolf episode is ready with a lot of tests, great results and fun experience. We had a fabulous time with Andreas from e-Surfer and Markus — creator of the Waterwolf jetboard, an electric board boasting a distinctive propeller design. Our drone session was fantastic with a whole crew of drones flying together, and we visited the Eisbach, an astonishing river surf park in the middle of Munich.

UNIQUE GERMAN URBAN SURFERS & SURFING SPOTS
Today we went to the beach of surf city in Berlin where Andreas from e-Surfer showed us the new Waterwolf MPX-3 electric jetboard. Next we visited Munich and discovered an incredible urban surfing spot, the Eisbach, a small channel of the Isar River that runs through Munich’s big, central park. Daily, aspiring river shredders line up to surf the continuous, ice-cold wave that rolls through the channel all day long. Finally we drove to Bavaria where we met the man himself, Markus Schilcher, creator of the Waterwolf jetboard, who gave us a master class on how to ride Waterwolf PRO style! We also broke the world record of the largest number of Waterwolf jetboards surfed at the same time!

“MPX-3 is perfect to practice the take-off and to make radical maneuvers. It gives you a mixte feeling of snowboarding and real surfing. The special developed motorized-propeller-drive-unit (MPX) in combination with the special recess at the bottom side makes it possible to ride narrow radical turns without a stall without ropes, straps or any other additives”.
“Most electric surfboards are using a jet engine. Why do you prefer a propeller? You can carve aggressively with the propeller engine. This is because the propeller is not mounted at the back of the board, it is exactly at the axis of rotation. I spend a lot time on finding the sweet spot for the propeller position and have patented my solution.
The ride is also much smoother as the propeller is always under the water surface and doesn’t lose traction like it happens with the jets which are only right below the surface”.

THE EYE OF THE RIDER
It is definitely a good leisure board and we really enjoyed riding it. The MPX-3 offers a good stability and buoyancy despite the fact that there is no fin, an excellent battery life compared to some other electric boards and it is very easy to stand up on it, as well as pick up speed. My only concern is that the propeller is still quite prominent and exposed even if the kill switch is reinsuring, it takes about 2 to 5 m for the board to stop depending on the speed. As Andreas explained in the video, the protection ring is also here to avoid injuries and an upgrade is coming up with a break feature able to cut the engine right away.
It is not all about racing, for people who are not overly sporty, who just want to get up and have some fun this is it. The power delivered is actually a good surprise and this is probably more like traditional surfing than other electric boards too. (We could see that the Jetson boards also bring this feeling of surfing).
