WHAT IS “TRIALS & RETURNS”

"Trials" are attempts or tests to see if something works. "Returns" refer to the outcomes or results of those trials, indicating success or failure.

Purpose

To simplify the process for Shopify store owners, our app seamlessly integrates with Shopify's deferred purchase options. Shopify offers APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) for specific features, and our app makes it easy for you to implement essential purchase options like "try before you buy" and manage returns. This ensures a user-friendly experience, allowing you to effortlessly leverage these features within your Shopify store.


Requirements & Limitations

To use TBYB on your store, review the following requirements and restrictions:

  • TBYB orders can only accept debit or credit cards that are processed through Shopify Payments as a payment gateway.
  • TBYB isn't supported in stores with customized checkouts.
  • Customers can't use accelerated checkouts such as Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Meta Pay to purchase TBYB products.
  • Customers can't use local payment methods such as Klarna, Mollie iDEAL, and Sofort to purchase TBYB products.
  • Local delivery and pick up in store aren't supported as delivery options for TBYB orders.
  • TBYB products are only supported on the Online Store and Custom Storefront sales channels.
  • Buy X get Y discounts aren't supported by TBYB.
  • You cannot combine different purchase options with one product (i.e a customer cannot "Try Before You Buy" a subscription).

What is try before you buy

"Try Before You Buy" (TBYB) is a way for online stores to let customers receive their orders before paying for them. With TBYB, the store can ship the products to customers, and customers pay later if they keep it This allows customers to try out the items and pay only for what they keep.

Please note that Shopify's standard services do not include this feature, but there are APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) available. If you want to implement TBYB in your store, you can use apps like the "Try Before You Buy" app, which makes it simple for store owners to set up and manage this feature in an easy and user-friendly way.


Terms Used

Selling plans

Selling plans are the plans created by the merchant for a product(s) with an initial deposit amount and number of trial days. Created plans are displayed on the front-end alongside the "Add to Cart" option. Customers can purchase products by selecting a selling plan and paying the initial deposit amount.

Deposit

The deposit amount is set by the merchant for a product while creating a selling plan. When a customer purchases any product associated with the selling plan the deposit amount is deducted from the customer.

Free Trial Period (Specified by Number of Days)

If a customer chooses to keep the product and does not initiate a return within the certain time period ,they will automatically be charged the full price or the remaining amount for the item.

Order Fulfillment

As soon as you place your order, we begin processing it immediately. This includes securely packaging your products and organizing prompt dispatch to guarantee fast delivery.

Inventory Fulfillment

Order fulfillment signifies that the customer's purchase is complete, and the items are ready to be shipped. If stock management is active, the app will automatically adjust the inventory to account for the outgoing items. Essentially, this process ensures that your inventory levels accurately represent the products dispatched to customers.

Product Selection

Choose the products you want to include in this selling plan. Click the "Select Product" button below to select the specific items that will be covered by this plan. This way, you can customize and apply the selling strategy to the products you've chosen. Take control of your selling plan by picking the products that align with your business goals. Click the "Create" button now to get started and make selections for this specific selling plan.
